[UK-CONTEST] RSGB 21/28 MHz Contest

No specific RSGB one Chris but I am sure historically Convention organisers
have liased with HFCC, or at least the contest calendar, when selecting a
date. (Why do I have this feeling you are going to say something different?)

First weekend in Oct for a revamped 21/28MHz event would be good in that now
it wouldn't now clash with the FOC Annual Dinner and I am sure entrants
would be most happy to work VK/ZL participants for some points/mults. There
is no reason why two separate contests can't be held on the same weekend as
long as they are mutually inclusive. Gets us away from WAG also.

With e-mail and telephone conferencing, I am sure HFCC could come up with a
set of rules VERY quickly (eg, scoring as per now, sections - single
mode/single op, dual mode either single or dual op.) i.e. no long, drawn out
discussion.

Get in there, do it, change, publish it. Job done. New challenging format.
HFC organisers would have to sit up and take notice or risk losing
attendance!!

Let's go ....... Chris G3SJJ Ah I see my glass of red wine is only half
full ...

I thought there was an understanding that the *RSGB* HF Convention was NOT
scheduled so that it clashed with an *RSGB* sponsored HF contest????? So

- Do the organisers know something we don't?
or
- Do they care anyway about that kind of thing any more?

Hmmm, Chris G3SJJ

(BTW Colin, there were a few Ws calling you on 15m in the contest at around
1800 local which you were not hearing!!)

The pencilled in HF Convention dates for 2006 are October 6/7/8th.
