CQ Mag says: “Disqualified: OE4A (OE1EMS) illegal use of packet spotting in
the single operator category”.
Almost every year someone is disqualified, usually a leading station whose
log has been closely scrutinised. Sometimes the DQ has been for this very
reason. Some others who claim Unassisted are ‘encouraged’ to change their
category to Assisted, and do so.
I agree that CQ Contest needs to better publicise the enormous amount of
hard work that goes into proving these cases of rule-breaking. DQ can only
happen with solid evidence.
