My local club, the Callaway Amateur Radio League (CARL) will operate a
special event station commemorating the 60th anniversary of the famous "Iron
Curtain" speech given by Sir Winston Churchill on March 6, 1946, on the
campus of Westminster College here in Fulton, Missouri. He was invited to
give this speech by President Harry Truman. Churchill accepted on the
condition that President Truman accompany him. Truman accepted. His words
"from Stettin on the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic an Iron Curtain has
descended across the Continent" changed the thinking of the whole world.
Fulton is a town of 12K persons and Westminster College is a small college
of about 700 students. We thought that some hams in the UK might want to
work this station. As I do not know who to contact in the UK, I thought
maybe you would be kind enough to make some contacts and get the word out.
The info will be in the March 2006 QST. We will have a station set up on the
Westminster campus and CARL members will also be operating from their home
stations. Here is the info:

Call  =  W0C

Dates =  March 3 to March 6,  2006

Main suggested Frequencies =  CW - 14.040  SSB - 14.275  PSK - 14.070
 RTTY - 14.080,  Plus / minus QRM
                Home stations may be on other bands.

QSL Manager = KS0M, Dick White 826 Evergreen Dr. Fulton, MO 65251 USA.
KS0M address good in qrz.com
                                   e-mail =  whiter26 at sbcglobal.net

We will supply a 8 1/2 X 11 inch certificate ( is that 21.5 X 28 cm ? ).  We
may also have a QSL card, but not sure yet.
  The ARRL rules for QSLing a special event station apply.

We ask for a SASE or SAE with adequate USA green stamps or IRC's.
