[UK-CONTEST] Fwd: Log for LZ DX Contest 2005

Ditto. I was apparently in 57 logs received. I only made 97 QSOs and only 24
were with LZs. Now that's what I call a well supported, and well organised
contest!

Broadening the argument slightly, it has always been thought that a UK based
event of similar ilk could not succeed, because the support from G would be
so poor. This was a view with which I was in accord. However, when giving
some points away inn the recent REF event- where one may only work French
stations and their possessions-, I was stuck by how very very low the
activity was, and yet that event persists year after year. I wonder
therefore if we should revisit the idea of an event along the lines of the
Jubilee contest a few years back, with say mults. of VE,VK et al call areas
and UK postal codes ( first two letters). Are we underselling ourselves in
typical British fashion? Perhaps it might even get a few Gs off the
repeaters ( hey, are there actually still repeaters these days?)
