Pleased you got your LOTW sorted John. I read somewhere that Worked All
States will be going "Live" soon on LOTW that will be fun. Not sure if it
was a rumour, as I have not seen any news since reading this.
Last weekend I loaded up my CQWW 80M contest log, that created a good number
of QSL's !
HNY All.

Hi All
I am wanting to put my LOTW files, certificates etc onto another computer
has anyone done this???
I have downloaded the LOTW software onto my laptop and tried to put on my
G4RCG call with the certificate from my main pc and it wont play, it says It
needs my personal key???
I want to do this for 2 reasons one is the security of knowing that if my
main pc goes up in smoke, then I will have at least one back up of the full
programme (with all the different call certificates I have) plus I want to
load up my V25G logs daily from V2 week after next (I have the V25G
certificate again on my main pc)
Any help would be appreciated either privatly or open on the reflector.
Cheers

You will find your key and other personal files under the Windows
folder. My be different in XP, but in Win 98 you will find these at:
Windows/Application Data/TrustedQSL with 2 sub folders - you will
find a file with your certificate/call in the keys folder.
Try copying this folder across to the other computer.

Further to my last mail...
Have you read the FAQs etc on the LOTW site? In particular the news
item of Dec 29 2004 which tells you how to generate a .p12 file.
Basically open TQSLCERT and click on your certificate and select
save, which will generate a .p12 version of your certificate. Then on
the new machine select the file/load option which will allow you to
import the .p12 file.

Hi All again,
Tnx for some of those tips, after John sent me that file refering to
PKCS#12 files I knew I had seen them somewhere when I had been searching
around the programme.
Anyway I have found out how to do it and its easy (once you have figured
it out)
For those who want to know.
Download the LOTW software onto your 2nd pc
Go into your existing LOTW Certificates on the doner pc click once on the
certificate you want tocopy over.(to highlight it in blue)
Go to the tool bar and choose "Certificate"
The drop dowm menu comes and choose SAVE
It gives you the option to save it to? select a place to store them in
(which is easy to remember) I put them on my memory stick then its easy to
transfer them
Put the memory stick into the doner pc, now open tQSL certificates on the
doner pc,
Go to File
Go to Load Certificate File
Accept the one that is already ticked and press next
It will then give you the "Select Certificate File" screen that you want
to transfer as a PKCS#12 file
Highlight it and it puts it into the blank box, press open,
It then brings up the password box ignore this UNLESS you have password
protected the file, if it is not password protected then next it brings up
yet another password screen to seen iof you want to protect it?, just skip
ok it and then thats it it press finish and it puts it into the tQSL
Cetificate box for you
Easy as pie (after the first one anyway)
Cheers
