Using 5W QRP here from my K2 into a mediocre longwire. My results are
really not that far below those with 100W into a dipole!!

144 QSOs (55/40/31/18), G, GW, GM and LY

Spent most of the time search and pounce. CQing didn't really get me
anywhere, though I did have the occasional caller that way. Main
problem on QRP is that if you find a clear frequency (and there were
plenty of them) it wasn't long before you got swallowed up below
people who either didn't listen or couldn't hear me. There seemed to
be a few who seemed to be very deaf as well...

On filters, I always use the 400Hz filter in the K2. But as we all
know, some people cannot net and you have to deft with the IRT to
find them. But in a contest like this you really do need a narrow
filter, would have used the 200Hz one but it would have made the
netting problem worse. Maybe also the difference between those who
could copy me well (even the LY had no problem) and those who
couldn't were down to filter and receiver overload problems. I guess
there were some people out for their only contest of the year with
SSB filters...

Good fun, but a lot got away.
