I thought the idea of a team of 5 in AFS CW was to encourage broader
development of contest expertise within the clubs, rather than giving
advantage to those with relatively few "expert" members. When the SSB
section was added (I think as a replacement for the defunct (SW) Magazine
Club Contest - MCC) a lower level of participation or perhaps capability was
anticipated compared to the long established CW section and so the team size
was reduced to 3. As this is probably no longer the case, shouldn't we
therefore consider increasing the SSB team size to 5? I don't think a
smaller team size is likely to encourage newer members to participate, in
fact quite the reverse.
