Hi All,
I'm glad that Callum kept his cool under what must have been very
frustrating circumstances. But isn't it just possible that the wider
community of amateur radio operators is getting fed up with contest
after contest taking up our most precious resource?
I'm reasonably sure that the majority of the members of this reflector
fully support the views expressed by Nigel (regarding the use of SSB in
the CW-only segment):

and Chris (regarding the letter in RadCom from G3NCN):

But is there no one in this little community able take the broader view,
and imagine what it's like being a non-contester these days? Does no
one in this Group realise that, for many amateurs, 'contester' and
'contesting' are dirty words?
It's no surprise to me that those outside the contesting community are
starting to push back a little.
Regards to all,
Steve GW4ALG
PS
Oh, and before anyone asks: No, I wasn't operating 40m SSB this morning!
