No record score from here Peter. Very low key effort, saving myself for
the FOC Marathon next weekend. Chinese meal plus a bottle a Castle New
of the Popes made sure I slept through till 0800 on Saturday morning.
Sporadic activity during late Saturday afternoon and evening until I
virtually fell asleep at 2330 due to a team effort Moules Frites and
encore vin blanc. Forced myself out of bed at 0700 Sunday morning to
grab the last hour of that session for a few Ws. Re-commenced late
Sunday afternoon, then again after dinner until about 2300. All search
and pounce apart from a 20Q Run late Sunday evening.
Ft1kMP, Acom 1000, Dipole at 57ft, N1MM logging program

Highlights:
- making ON4UN wait for 3 QSOs until I decided to work him!
- breaking the EU rag-tag pileup to work UK9AA
- copying and working JH4UYB through 3 layers of Eu.
- Feeling that the station was operating effectively except rx ant (see
later)
- Hitting 176 ph (10 minute) run rate by hunt and peck on key board with
left hand and sending calls plus exchange on paddle with left hand.
- Good food and wine.

Lowlights
- Biggies like DJ6xx not having the ability to listen.
- Generally Eu not listening. Calling whilst the other guy is still txing.
- Not having a separate rx antenna.
- Too much good food and wine. Though I did go swimming on Friday and
will be at the gym Tuesday.

Unfortunately, CQ decided to schedule this event to coincide with both CNY and my (Chinese) father-in-law's 90th b'day, effectively limiting participation to the last hour of the contest. However, what amazing propagation, more akin to14MHz, with most G's well inside skip and already at 2300 a steady stream of US and Canadian callers rolling in from out to the mid-west, on a beautifully quiet band. So what goodies did I miss at dawn grey-line? Record scores must be on the cards . . .
