[UK-CONTEST] Beware - this list is unmoderated!

This evening, I received an e-mail from an ex-subscriber of this list, saying that he had unsubscribed owing to the behaviour of another list member. I got the impression that he expected me to do something about it.

Chris, GM3WOJ in a message recently, described this list very accurately, with one exception. He described me as a moderator. In my book, a moderator does just what the word 'moderate' implies. If someone steps out of line in posting, the moderator will step in and pour oil on troubled waters/tell people not to be so stupid and so on.... 

My function on this list is not that! I agreed, when the list was set up that I would happily try and help people subscribe, unsubscribe and provide a channel to the server owners when required. I don't have the time, or inclination to review the content of each message and police 'unsatisfactory' posts! I don't do that, and no-one else does. Fortunately, for the very vast majority of time, no-one needs do that. 

Please, when you're posting just a reminder to do what the very vast majority of you already do... feel free to argue forcefully, use humour - but treat people as you'd expect to be treated yourself.
