Hi Roger

Thanks for pointing out paras 3.3 & 3.5 from the IARU General Rules
http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/rules-all.html

I had not realised before that working GB5HQ with multiple (club) calls,
as I and others have done, was beaking the IARU rules.

Just a point of correction though, it is not breaking the terms of one's
licences or SCC NOV.

You chaps are missing the main point.
Many of DA0HQ's QSOs are not 'real' QSOs.
Many DLs are each feeding multiple different call-signs to DA0HQ. Let's
not stoop to this level of cheating.
Yes, it is cheating to work with a dozen different call-signs (and
breaking your licence rules).
ARRL General Contest Rules 3.3 and 3.5 make it quite clear that only one
call-sign should be used at one location. DA0HQ is not guilty of
breaking this rule, but they do encourage many thousands of DLs to do
so.
Let's not log-pad with any old call-sign we care to pick from the
call-book.
That's not contesting.
