What's there to get your head around?
You have to travel to North America to work G3TBK in ARRL.
You have to travel to Asia to work G3TBK in All Asia.
You have to travel outside Europe to work G3TBK in WAE.
You have to travel to Poland to work G3TBK in SP-DX.
If you don't like BERU, don't like it. That's perfectly cool. I'll let you
into a wee secret - I don't like PACC and SP-DX, SAC, and to be honest, REF
because they're too slow, boring, and samey for my tastes! If I'm about the
rig, I'll give away a few points to the lads who are taking them seriously,
but spending 24 hours working 200 people in a relatively small country about
1000km away with clockwork reliable propagation is just boring.
You, see, you can come out of the closet about things like this.
Now, there are people who like that sort of thing, and if SP-DX changed to
accommodate me, not only would they lose out, but we'd have another contest
EXACTLY the same as UBA, 9ADX, YUDX, HADX, etc., etc., etc. And I think the
sport of contesting would be the loser for that. There are enough contests
over the year to satisfy most tastes; if there isn't one quite the way you
like it, take the time and trouble to organise another one.
If you hate BERU, that's cool. But don't keep making up spurious reasons
why you don't like it, claiming it's outmoded, claiming it's generally
agreed that it's outmoded, etc., etc. Just get your kicks in whatever way
floats your boat and let others do the same.
