Be interested to know how it works out Callum.

Big knob / little knob technique has been common in CW and SSB Field
Days for many years now, and also at GU8D in the IOTA Contest we have
done that on the Mult station. The second (little knob) computer is
connected to the network but not the radio so we had to make sure we
were always on the same band/mode as the main VFO one. I think we lost a
few Qs one year in IOTA because Mult 2 computer hadn't kept up with the
band changes on Mult1 ie main VFO. The UBA report indicated some "Not in
log" Qs.

Last year at GU8D we instituted in-band / same mode multing which would
have worked if not for the Shitelog/ mHam Router problems. So if you are
running on 20CW for example, little knob op looks for 20m CW mults, and
the Mult station looks for 20 SSB Mults. We are hoping to try it again
this coming weekend at G8D at my QTH. It would be nice though to have
the little knob computer able to poll the radio.

N1MM now fully supports both RSGB CW and SSB FDs. The scoring and mult
indication are good, although at a cursory glance it didn't seem to
count own country as a mult. See what you think.

Aah, you also need the patent GU8D SR2O switcher!! Quite simple bit of
logic. Each op has a headset, whoever hits the foot switch first grabs
the mic. And no, you can't have the cct. But it will be in use at
G8D on our Run station, cos it's good!
