[UK-CONTEST] IOTA 2006

G'day

Well my luck with IOTA continues.  Either I'm away on holiday escaping the 
winter or the bands are poor.  This year I was at home but 40M which was 
the only band I had a working antenna was very poor, at least for me.  The 
HF beam was on the ground whilst a rotator repair was underway and only 
went up again late Sunday morning.

Only two QSO's!  G8D followed by CU3W both S3-5 when normally EU would be 
9+ so my 100W was not going to make too much impression.  The Acom 1000 is 
on a ship about to depart this way.  Loads of perfect copy S3 signals no 
QRN so I eventually just spent some time listening around.  G3TXF who I 
did call was in an impressive groove.

Now next year I will be away on holiday again, in Madeira when the contest 
is on, not sure I shouldn't take the K2/QRP.
