Certainly a better bet Roger, I agree.  But I just remember the less than
enthusiastic support we saw from the commonwealth during the Jubilee event
at the prospect of working strings of - well, the world, as opposed to the
(generally speaking) nice well-behaved Brits that still patronise Beru.

Comparative activity levels in the UK are the main problem though and we
seem as far as ever from cracking that one.  What about a UK version of the
old Bermuda contest with real prizes (a choice of cup or Wimbledon final
tickets perhaps?)

Just a thought. How about making a 7MHz contest as the
Commonwealth vs the World. Kind of a single band beru
plus! My feeling is that there are just not enough G
contesters to make UK vs the world attractive to the
world. And that seems to me to be the problem with
21/28MHz as well.
