[UK-CONTEST] OT - Ofcom licensing .

Chris,

Vanity callsigns were discussed during our last meeting (23rd February) 
and was agreed in principle.   However in line with everything else that 
happens in this 'democratic' country of ours it will be included in the 
upcoming public consultation on the BR68 licensing document.   This is 
another consultation that is due any time now and needs to be completed 
by mid-summer.

Further to the discussion on the Ofcom 1st October deadline for taking 
over the issuing of licences, there is a strong possibility that the Cap 
Gemini contract for the setting up and amalgamation of all the Ofcom 
databases will not be completed in time for this to happen.   There are 
ongoing negotiations between Ofcom and RLC on the possibility of 
extending the current RLC contract on a month by month basis.   
Personally if I was at RLC I would insist on a minimum 6  month extension.
