Hi all.
I think this debate about the Club Calls exchange occurs annually!
As a member of a twice winning team in Club Calls, FWIW, I think I
tend to agree with Steve.
It's good to have a variety of exchanges and the current club name
encourages a certain pride in many casual callers that I work in
this event. I am certainly not against change but in this one I
think its ok. Our small club has a number of non-contesters in it
despite the many we partake in, and Club Calls is the only one where
even most of them take part.
I think the accuracy of copying the club calls as given by each
participant is also an important aspect of this for the more serious
entrant, but we must all be aware of exactly how exact and some would
say pedantic the logs are going to be adjudicated. The sample log
shown on the HFCC website shows sensible abbreviations used (RS, ARS
etc.) and hence I take that as a guide to the exactness expected.
Anyway, at least I have remembered to actually send in the G0RGH
entry this year (I forgot in 2005 hence we unusually didn't figure in
the results table) so thanks to all for the QSOs. Like many have
commented, I found the final hour hard work this year.
