Hi Les et al.,
Enclose my off-list note to Ray - did not want to preach to the converted!
Also its worth noting that when in contest mode ("Contest ON") you should
toggle between S&P and Run by clicking on "Call" on the middle toolbar. Easy
to forget!! The current state is shown in the top toolbar as "Run" or "S&P".
Then you can use the specific contest macros (Option; Setup logging; QSO
button. click "Set" to program).
The "Run" Macros are straightforward but for S&P I leave the second button
unchecked and use the "de3" main macro to respond, as many times as
necessary. After hearing my report and serial (clicking on them to enter
them automatically in the boxes Ray!), I can click "QSO" to get the response
of the first button, that is programmed to give my report and serial,
followed by the "QSO" button again and this unprogrammed macro sends nothing
but enters the QSO into the log. If the other station wants a repeat I
either do this manually so the number of repetitions is suited to conditions
or use a main Macro programmed with the repeat report. The serial then does
not change till the final "QSO" button press that finishes the complete QSO.
Save the Macros as well as your "Profile" Be sure to load them in at the
start of a contest session!!
This is just my modus operandi, others may do something different and
apologies again to the cognoscenti.
