Thanks Clive, a good idea!
I'll  try to measure the RF on my Beverage while transmitting max
carrier. I have a feeling too that the Bev is not as quiet as it
should be and probably the vertical is coupling noise into it.
I've come across a couple of RX front end protection ccts consisting
of a series lamp and back to back shunt diodes to limit the pickup to
a safe level.
