Had a quick first-time dabble in the Sprint yesterday - 80m only, 100W.
Determined not to be tarred with the 'just hit F1' brush, I made
things signficantly harder for myself by making this also the first
contest I've tried using a remote station - Mark G4FPH was good enough
to let me play. Perhaps not the easiest introduction to the genre, but
I now know what to expect!
30 QSOs from just over 2 hours.
I've no data points to compare activity with previous years, or even
last weekend's CW leg - but there seemed to be a lot of people show up
on 80m in the last hour. I guess the UK is not best situated for 80m
propagation in this event given the timing.
Had I been better prepared/organised/equipped I could certainly have
worked more -I'll be back :-)
