[UK-CONTEST] OT: RSGB move and QSL bureau - closure?

Peter,

I see no decline in paper QSL requests for my operations, not only from
my DX callsigns but also for QSO's made from the home call.

I do not understand suggestions of a "management buyout" - surely the
QSL Bureau service is part of the RSGB's responsibility as a National
Society, and if they want to outsource it (Heaven forbid) then they
should be paying to do so.

The Bureau is Staffed by hard working, loyal, and very knowledgeable
Ladies - the fact that they are part time and job-share does not make
them dispensable.
QSL numbers may be down at present - so are band conditions - don't
forget that at the last sunspot peak people were complaining about
Bureau delays and backlogs and some sorting did have to be sent "outside".

If the RSGB wants to continue to see a decline in Membership, axeing the
Bureau is a sure way of accelerating it.
