[UK-CONTEST] Heil Headset Question

I agree, I like the BM10. I cannot wear the ProSet for more than 2 or 3 hours. However, I did ask Bob Heil about this at Leicester and he said that it is possible (and recommended) to bend the main headset strap (on the ProSet) so that it becomes more comfortable. I have also tried these socks or boots that you can buy to cover the earphones and they just make them hotter and more uncomfortable. I also dislike the way the mic on a ProSet seems to suffer from plosive 'splatter'. I find that they only sound good if you put some thin foam over the boom mic.
As well as the Heils, I occasionally use an old Dictaphone boom headset (which cost £5) in which I have put a Heil HC4 insert. I think this is like the one with the big mic that Chris WOJ mentioned in his post. I have to say that the tx audio is way better than any of the off-the-shelf Heils. It has cracked the 1A4A zoo 2 or 3 times now! Maybe it hasn't got damp. I can't wear it for more than 3 -4 hours though.
Bottom line, I would not recommend the ProSet for a full weekend use!

Don't forget the BM10 - I've used one for years, have tried the others but
found them uncomfortable for serious contest sessions (CQWW, WAE etc..).
About half the price of the pro-set too!
They appear every-so-often on Ebay, so grab yourself a bargain!
