Two things I won't do - speed my callsign up on CW because it might
deter callers who find it irritating and leave out my callsign in the
"TU G3SJJ" / Thanks G3SJJ message because I want callers to know who I
am. Everything else is fair game.
This is the way I view contesting. I call it "Marketing." You need to
gather as many punters as quickly as you can. Once you have got 'em, you
need to exchange/extract the required information as quickly as possible
and get rid of them rapidly so you can move on to the next one.
SJJ or JJ to those who know me is adequate. One instead of TT1 or Zero
Zero One etc also. Thinking on your feet is the name of the game.
I just luurrv ENNN in CQWW CW, even more so if it comes at me 40wpm. Sweet!
I was thrown a little in CW AFS when someone sent me the cut number D
and I had to ask for a repeat, therefore wasted the other guy's time,
but realised it was my own stupid fault for not being on the ball.
That's what I call contesting, Chris G3SJJ
