[UK-CONTEST] Tour de France

While I think about it and this is for the benefit of our VHF/UHF contributors, the Tour de France which starts from Central London this year (would you believe), starts on the same weekend as VHF/UHF Field Day.

Stage 1 runs from Central London through Kent, via Maidstone, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and all stations to Canterbury.   Needless to say the amount of RF floating around the event will be enormous and Ofcom will be out in force to try and keep an eye on communications.   They do admit however that there may be some unlicensed activity which may appear on the Amateur VHF/UHF/Microwave bands.   I in turn have advised Ofcom that any unauthorised stations appearing on 2 metres in particular are likely to be given short shrift.   MOD will also be keeping an ear open on 70cm.
