[UK-CONTEST] Ham IV rotator stripping and reassembly help/hints?

Hi

I am refurbishing my Ham IV rotator and control box, they were in good
condition when last used (1987!) but have been stored in various garages and
sheds around the UK since then.

The rotator terminal block is corroded and one of the terminals pushed back
inside the rotor casing when I was undoing the screws.

I will have to strip the rotator now, which I hadn't intended doing as it
had only 2 years of use from new, but it is probably a good thing to check
it out before I put it back on my mast.

However I have a vague memory of getting into a bit of a tangle when I first
stripped an AR40, if I remember correctly it was a problem getting the
direction potentiometer and the stops back in synchronism. Something about
putting it in the correct state before starting?

I have the original manual but it doesn't give service info. Any tips on
how to go about it or where I could get guidance?

Thanks

Alex
