[UK-CONTEST] XP and Vista Networking with N1MM

Has anyone any experience of networking PCs (laptops included) where
one or more use Vista and one or more use XP. What are the pitfalls in
making it work particularly in a N1MM environment?

N1MM will be working (hopefully) across the mixed network. Is this a
route worth pursuing or should I stick with XP? I need to replace my
laptop as it creates considerable rf noise on 144 and 432 MHz but all
the stores seem to have only Vista now. I might try Dell as
theoretically it is possible to order an XP option on their machines
but as they operate mail order only in the UK getting a guarantee that
the laptop will be rf quiet is near impossible.
