Actually the bit that gave most pleasure over the weekend was hearing Chris 
sending "CQ BERU" as opposed to "CQ CC", something he had sworn never to do. 
No further comment on this for the time being . . .

Hats off to Daves BUO and VO1AU for really getting their teams out in 
earnest - the others seemed to be carrying several "injuries", as far I 
heard anyway.  Don't know how you managed 60 more QSOs this year Dave, 
without the usual run of 5B4s, a relatively inactive GB5CC and not a lot on 
10.

The Orion mysteriously died over Friday night and just managed to exchange 
it for a standby rig - of course all the connectivity was wrong, including 
the SteppIR vertical auto tuning.  A blessing in disguise this, because 
otherwise it moves slightly when you pass 025 on each band and makes a 
dreadful noise for several seconds as you tune around the bands.  Claimed 
score will have to await eventual entry into SD, but looks to be around 4350 
(Restricted Section/24 hrs) by counting up bonuses from the dupe sheets.
