I certainly rememer writing a VHF NFD report up some years ago where one of
the groups reported an operator having to be taken to hospital after hot
filling a petrol genny.

Fill the genny whilst its running!  Most warn you to switch it off and let 
it cool for a couple of minutes, that is unless you like skin grafts.
