I've also heard people report that  they have problems with RF feedback, 
I never had any real problem with mine - but then I make a significant 
effort to make sure as much RF as possible comes out of the antennas and 
as little as possible is found in the shack.

That said, the same fix for the MFJ that worked on Datong speech 
processors ( remember them ) works very well on MFJ keyers.

Use self adhesive copper emc tape to close the box where the top wrap 
meets the chassis, small strips attached to each half so that the join 
becomes copper to copper and the assembly screws only close the gap 
together on the "gasket"

These days I use the PC soundcard for voice keying which is more 
flexible for me, but if I wasn't - I'd have no issue with using the old 
MFJ keyer.
