Hi all, I'm looking for some advice, as a beginning / dabbling
contester. I have N1MM all set up for CW contests, my main interest
but thought I may try some SSB madness at some point.
I'm going to record some WAV files for SSB and just wondered how you
guys do it via the PC sound card. My main question is what is a good
sound card to use in the PC? I hate grovelling on the floor behind my
PC to plug unplug line in, line out and mic leads etc so is there a
sound card that provides an elegant solution? eg an external audio
connection box? I'm soon to be getting a K3 and will be using this so
would like to tidy up my mass of connections.
At present my sound card is a rather old Soundblaster Live 5.1 so I'm
looking to update this to something perhaps better or more suitable.
Also of interest is using my Softrock Rx to drive a panoramic PC
display of the K3 I.F. so a sound card for that too would be nice, but
maybe expensive and better to keep the two things separate?
Any advice welcome, Thanks
