I recently imported a couple of relays from the States and paid very similar
amounts to yourself. The pound / dollar rate might make it look like a good
idea to import something rather larger, like a transceiver for example, but
these charges take away some of the benefit.

I have just received my K1EL USB Winkey kit from the states and it looks a
great kit but I was somewhat annoyed to have to pay £5.49 VAT and £8.00
Royal Mail handling before the Royal Mail would let me have the package. I
am I alone I having to pay these amounts?
