[UK-CONTEST] SHORT CONTEST CALLS

I've just received the renewal of G5W for the Contest Club, and note that one condition of the SCC is that:

"A separate log must be kept in respect of this callsign"

In my normal station call licence, it says that I shall keep a log at the request of Ofcom. Now of course anyone using a SCC will want to keep a log, I assume, (and I think should do for a non-contest station too !) but the legal basis for the licence appears to be inconsistent with the standard licence. I wonder if this is a hang-over from the old wording, or an intentional difference ?
