[UK-CONTEST] SHORT CONTEST CALLS

OK here's my short straw!

Whilst respecting and understanding those who don't want to lose their
existing identity, I feel differently, if only because of the nightmare
of my issued callsign in contests, which is perennially copied bass
ackwards viz GW3NWJ. Those CW ops with an E or a K as the last letter
will also empathise!

Clearly I could never have GW3NJ unless reissue of SK calls is allowed (
although I suspect Gx3NJ was in fact never issued?), but equally clearly
Gx0xx, Gx1xx,Gx7xx, Gx9xx and their M and 2 equivalents are available.

Good to see the debate

My two penn'orth

Now of course anyone using a SCC will want to keep a log, I assume, (and I think should do for a non-contest station too !) but the legal basis for the licence appears to be inconsistent with the standard licence. I wonder if this is a hang-over from the old wording, or an intentional difference ?
