Hi Paul and the group,
This was the first time I had tried this contest, and like you, I got fed up
fairly quickly!
Only one single G was logged, although I did see a couple of GM's and G's
being worked during the saturday afternoon.
I was hoping to find some G's on 80m, but bagged just the one, which I
thought was fairly poor.
I almost gave up there and then, but did a few more hours on the Sunday
morning, and brought my QSO count up to 125.
Yes, there were some seriously high scores towards the end, given that it is
only a 24 hour contest! I had a few in the 900's.
Also, there seemed to be some confusion over the exchange. One G I worked
gave me 007, as that is his Area Code. Not his fault, as he was just trying
out MMTTY for the first time, and hadn't realised there was a contest on.
The exchange for Guernsey is GN, and way too many folk thought I was sending
AGN, so they kept sending their exchange over and over! That made for hard
work during the few runs I managed to get.
Add to this the comments from Pete G3KNU about never having received his
certificate for top UK station in Single op Low power section, then I am not
sure I will try this contest again.
I ended up with 125 Q's for 15120 points.
73 all
