Hi all
Well I worked GB7HQ on 160 , 80 and 40 SSB, but couldn't hear GB7HQ on 20,15 and 10. To be fair, I didn't spend a lot time in the shack (not more than 10 minutes) due to other commitments. The fact that I powered the shack up, tuned up a the aerial, found and worked GB7HQ on 80 and 40 very quickly is an indication to the strength of the signal, so thats not a bad thing.
Certainly the 80m signal was crashing in at my QTH on Saturday afternoon and I worked them first call. I then re-tuned (not a mean feat either !) and worked them on 40m. The 40m station had a few other UK callers at the time, and I think the op was struggling to hear them, conditions at the time I guess, as very shortly after the Europeans became very loud on the band, and swamped out the UK stations.
At that time the top band signal from Anglessey was not audible and I later went back to the shack, turned on, tuned up and worked them on top band.
To "lay on a show" like this, which is a multi site, multi mode, team event is a complex, technically difficult and I am sure demanding exercise, which is quite an achievement. If you then consider it in the context that it is a hobby, then it becomes even more remarkable.
