[UK-CONTEST] Cut numbers in callsigns

Just heard one of those Austrian Euro 2008 special events stations 
calling cq on 40 cw but in a novel use of cut numbers was sending his 
call as OE2TT8*......no-one seemed to want to call him (including me...) 
but I did think how handy that would be for me while contesting :-)

Trouble is I don't think I would score very heavily if at all.....
