[UK-CONTEST] Wire antennas slung over trees

Seen some good advice on the reflector about launching lines over trees.

I personally haven't had much luck with catapults - I got a fishing bait
type one some while ago; wasn't very good.  I used a fishing reel in it's
free mode; mounted on a stick facing the tree.  Maybe my technique was wrong
?


I ended up attaching the fishing reel to a piece of waste pipe tube; and
casting it over a tree. I could get to around 50 ft like this with the usual
caveats.

One piece of advice not seen yet - I got some dayglo orange paint, and
dipped the weights in this. That way, it is easier to pick the weight out
when it is dangling in thin air !!!
