Decided to give the K3 an airing from the dining room, with 45 ft picture rail wire fed against a radiator, using the built-in ATU (which tuned to 1:1!).  Battery operation limited output to less than 10W to stand any chance of lasting the 90 minutes.  Congratulations to those who answered and to the select few who called my puny signal.  Even got 559 from Dave BUO who roars in from a few miles away.  To avoid the worst of the competition, I left calling the mega signals until 2100, by which time of course they were all down at S7 or less, and had no chance of hearing me.  Only GM and DL were workable during the last 30 minutes.
