[UK-CONTEST] Problems with Win XP load

I'm having so much trouble loading a new (legal) copy of Win XP onto a 
new machine (hangs during load into an endless loop), I'm thinking of 
trying to load Win 2000 instead, will this work with the usual contest 
logging and support software? I'm using N1MM and Logger 32 and various 
other bits n bobs.

No I'm not about to try Linux, not yet anyway...

Thanks for any help, suggestions...
