[UK-CONTEST] 80m nets

Hi all, 

MMM nets, I have been insulted a few times just for calling in! 

Also, I have been using a frequency for a few hours or more on 40/80 in the past and been asked to move as this is their frequency and they use it every week, they must own it obviously! Surely a battle hardened net controller would have a +/- strategy in such a situation or are their VFO's glued on one frequency. Pig ignorent is the phrase that springs to mind 

I must add at this point that this is not true of ALL nets but has put me off ever calling into one ever again! What kind of a feeling would this leave a newly licensed operator in, me, well hard skin and wide shoulders etc and the two finger solute!
