And of course chosen for absolute Q5 conditions.   Not designed to battle through QSB and QRM but to be intelligible by a variety of non English speakers.

Like Alex I find Echo totally useless too, with Oscar Hotel Golf coming back instead.   I mix ICAO with my own blend alternately with Germany Mexico 8 Ontario England Germany proving quite effective or Ecuador instead of England (which can come back as India).

Heaven help you if you as much as say "Fox" to Karen at Dundee.   As it is I have a running battle over 3,   "Dundee good morning Tayside Three Zero": "Tayside Trrree Zero pass your message"   Alternating with  "Dundee good morning Tayside Tree Zero" : "Tayside Thhree Zero pass your message".   I'm sure its a game....     A bit like the two ways of saying "quatre"  to a Frenchman.....
