[UK-CONTEST] RSGB SSB FD -G2AS

The Sheffield Amateur Radio Club is proud to announce our new callsign
G2AS, it original owner was one of our founder members Howard Booth who
sadly passed away in VK2 earlier this year aged 100. In his honour the
SARC are now re-activating his call. The RSGB FD contest will be the
first of many times you will hear this call in many events including
contests over the future years. Peter G3PHO will be first to use the
call on Saturday, Peter was a life long friend of Howard and arranged
with his family for the SARC to have his G call. 

This years team are YL's M3VCQ,2E0JOX,M3UJL. OM's -
G3PHO,M0GAV,2E0TJX,G0HSA,and myself G3VCQ. Thanks go to G4FAL for the
loan of his generator and the crank up mast, he is QRL this week-end so
we will have to win this on our own!

G2AS/p will be OTA from South Sheffield 700ft asl on 80-10m where we
know its going to be wet and very windy I have also heard the WX is not
going to much good either but like most /p stations participating this
week-end we will endure this for the good of Amateur Radio!

Where ever your operating from and what ever your station - remember its
only a hobby, stay safe.
