[UK-CONTEST] Best Radio & 2m Trophy activity.

Hi All

Marconi is popular with our group as it requires minimum effort (use my
station) and we have a good session down the pub on Saturday night. Add
to that the chance of working some good dx and still being in with a
chance of winning even with a hangover and it's easy to see why! With so
few other entrants the chances of being in the top3 is very high. Why is
support for this contest so poor in the UK?

I've not seen much in the way of self spotting by uk calls at all but I
have seen the odd 'confirmation report' sent on KST. That said I also
heard a locator being passed on by a third party on air during the
contest at the weekend which is certainly not in the spirit of the contest.

When the rule banning the use of KST was introduced I did consider
continuing to use KST but only submitting a checklog. I was bitter for
weeks and still think the rule sucks. I'm often connected before the
contest and if there is a chance of working something really tasty then
checklog it will be!

Ian.
