Not so!   RSGB (who always get the blame anyway) HQ staff provide the 
logistics or the ways and means only.   The RSGB Convention is organised 
by volunteers who have varying interests in the hobby including VHF, UHF 
and Microwave interests.   Attempts over a large number of years to 
bring the VHF community on board has met with rebuttals.   Attempts by 
the VHF Manager, Dave Butler G4ASR to enthuse VHF gurus to organise 
something themselves has also met with a lack of response.

Don't blame "the RSGB", blame the members themselves who want everyone 
else to organise things for them!
