Callum,
As it is your own TV causing the interference you are doubly
cursed !

If you ask Ofcom to investigate they will charge you £50 plus for
the privilege of telling you what you already know.

If you look at the back of your TV licence, or in the WT Act 2006
you will find that you might be breaking the law by using TV
apparatus that is causing interference.

To look on the bright side, at least the problem is within your
control, and not your neighbours.

As you have found very little interference is propagated down the
mains lead (because that's the bit manufacturers have to test),
but most comes from the screen and the sets internal circuitry.

The larger screened sets are meant for commercial use (exhibition
halls, canteens etc), and as such the emission limit to which they
are tested is relaxed by 10dB over those sets specifically
designed for the domestic environment.

Not much good news I'm afraid.

If the set was new you could return it saying it was "not fit for
propose", using Trading Standards to force the issue if they got
stroppy. However as some time has passed, I don't think that route
remains open. Judicious use of the OFF switch is probably your
only option.

A neighbour who was replacing his TV, recently asked me what to
buy. I said that he should go for a reputable make even though
they were not cheap. Further he should avoid Plasma sets as they
MIGHT require re-gassing in 5 years time :-)

It worked, he brought an LCD one which gives out little or no QRM.
