An excellent CQWW RTTY Contest. 
 
This year 637 USA and 119 JAs made it into the 20m SOSB log. [This compares
with 404 USA and just 9 JAs last year.] Operating was between 06z and just
before 23z each day with a few short gaps.
 
The number of States/Provinces worked (56) was well up on last year's 49.
The only missed state was WYOMING. However north of the 49th parallel there
were several missed Provinces: VO2, VE5, VE8, VY1 and VY0. Fortunately one
VE4 was worked.
 
The CQWW RTTY Contest is no longer an 'also-ran' event. It is now a 'major'
CQWW Contest ranking alongside CQWW CW and CQWW SSB. Perhaps it is time for
'CQ' to think about up-grading the presentation of the published CQWW RTTY
Contest results to reflect this, eg: country listings (and not the tedious
multi-page 'category' listings currently used), automated UBN Reports and
all-time records on a country basis available on the web. 
 
Despite making over 1,000 Q's on the Saturday not a single UK station had
been worked. Fortunately on the Sunday I stumbled across 2I0SAI, GI5K,
GM0UDL, GW3SFC and a few G's! Never did work EI, GU or GJ.
