Hi
As far as I know the legislation covers "Mobile Phones" if it were to cover
radio's then the police would have a problem as well as the Ambulance
Service

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] OT: Driving & Use of Radio

Hi Guys,

One of our local chaps has been given a 3 point fixed penalty for using
his VHF whilst driving.

I did have a copy of the act, chapter & verse that did specify what type
of equipment and the associated frequencies that it operated on that was
"verboten". But I have since lost it!

Obviously, he wants to fight it, but needs to see a copy of the
legislation first.

Anybody can point me in the right direction?

The officer did not propose to prosecute for due care, as he asked him
that at the time.....

So, it looks like it could be cut and dried. He has spoken by phone to
the officers inspector, and he didnt really know whether he should have
been given a ticket or not, and surprisingly no return phonecall has
been forthcoming!

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

James G0FHM
