[UK-CONTEST] Mega stations in the UK and elsewhere

At the risk of developing yet another line of discussion!

I have extracted a section on Dons last submission

" 1. Contesting is a competitive activity and, as some contributors have
said, is a good reason to extend our stations (within the restrictions of
the licence, as G3LVP will no doubt remind us :-) ). All part of the "self
training" which is part of our raison d'etre."

I no longer take part in certain RSGB events because I cannot run 100w to a
beam, I can use my beam if I have an amp but then I have to compeate against
the 400plus brigade. I have extended the performance of my station by
adding improved antennas but the RSGB will not let me use them - I have said
before this is contary to the self traing and improvement aspects of our
hobby. As a precursor to the 1500w campain I would join one to remove the
restricted catergory in RSGB contests.

Any comments from Contest Committe members?
