Hi David,
You could try modelling it with something like MMANA (http://mmhamsoft.amateur-radio.ca/mmana/index.htm) play around with the size until you get a good compromise.
For the HF bands MMANA is pretty accurate with its modelling when compared to built antenna's.

I'm throwing together a 300 foot doublet (primarily for 160/80M).
But is there any significant advantage making it 400 foot or 500 foot or even bigger.
I have plenty of straight-line space and hard-drawn copper wire!
