Frank W3LPL produced a chart way back in 1995 that I find very useful.
K1TTT has a copy of it on his website at
http://www.k1ttt.net/technote/coaxloss.html which can be printed out for
easy reference. I particularly like his 'feet required for 1dB
advantage' when comparing LDF4-50 and LDF5-50 to other lesser quality
coaxes.
